ATOM AE KINGS A FINALIST IN THE ANNUAL MILK TOURNAMENT
The Ainsworth Funeral Home Atom AE Kings showed up in a big way this weekend for the 6th Annual PEC Milk Tournament!
The Kings played their strongest league opponent the Napanee Stars in their first game Friday morning and secured a crucial 2-1 win. Both teams fought hard but it would be the Kings third period pressure, defensive lineup and goalie that would win them the game.

The Atom AE's faced the forceful Deep River Knights early the next morning  knowing they would be their toughest contender. Their goalie held the Kings in early in the game and the Kings were able to pot the first goal of the game late in the second. The Knights took the tired  Kings off guard in the third scoring 4 goals and taking the lead. The Kings pulled their goalie with less than 2 minutes left in the game and scored 2 quick goals to bring the game close but the Knights came back with an empty netter. The game ended 5-3 and set the Kings up for a needed win in Game 3. The Kings travelled to the Essroc Arena Saturday afternoon for game 3 against the Hunstville Otters and looking to secure a spot in the A finalist game. The Kings took a period to warm up scoring only 1 goal to the Otters 1 in the first period. They found their rhythm for the second period, however, scoring 3 unanswered goals. The Kings secured the win in the third despite the Otters late two goals to finish the game 7-3.

Sunday's A  finalist game against the Deep River Knights ended in a 3-1 loss for the Kings but felt like a win in the stands and on the bench. As coach Trevor Jones says 'The team played great in all 4 games this weekend and put forth their greatest efforts of the season against a very tough opponent in the final game. They have a lot to be proud of!'.  The Kings grit and hard work throughout the tournmanet and the final game saw an overall team effort that tournaments are about. Congrats Kings
