The PeeweeAE Kings had a very busy weekend heading into the Christmas season with 3 games in 3 nights starting off by hosting the Napanee Stars for the first time this regular season Friday night in Picton. This game was very even with scoring chances at both ends of the ice, i great game to watch. With the score all tied up at 2's.. both teams were battling for the go ahead..but in the last few minutes of the 3rd period, Napanee would find the back of the Kings net winning 3-2.
Saturday night was a rematch when the Stars hosted the Kings. The boys picked up where they left off the night before. The Kings were all over the Stars in the first period leading the game with a couple beauty goals. The Stars used their size and grit to pound down the Kings in the second period that proved to be one of the toughest roughest games so far this year, but the Kings would not be intimidated..in the dying seconds of the 3rd period down 6-5...the Kings would pull the goalie and attack the Stars, with only 1.9 seconds left, the Kings found a rebound out in front of the Stars net and bury the biscuit to tie the game at 6-6. This is going to make for an exciting series moving forward.
On Sunday, the Kings traveled to Stirling for the final match-up between these two teams in the regular season. The Kings controlled the first period very easily, great puck movement, quick shifts, and awesome teamwork would put the Kings ahead after 1. Stirling had some fight back though potting a couple of their own in the 2nd period, but after the Kings regained their mojo...they would find the Blues twine 2 more times ending the game at a 4-2 final.
Next game for the PeeweeAE Kings is Sunday Dec,27 at 1:00 in Napanee..Bring your party helmets, this game should be a Doozy.. GO KINGS GO
