Cancellation of the Remainder of the 2020/21 Season
The PECMHA Executive are saddened to announce the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020/21 hockey season. Due to rising cases in the Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health region, especially in the younger demographic the Hockey Executive tabled concerns for our members and players health. In an emergency meeting held last night a vote was taken on whether to continue with the remainder of the season as planned for April or to cancel. The decision was made to cancel.

I know this is incredibly disappointing to many (myself and my boys included). But we all must do our part to protect each other.

The hockey executive also took a deep look into the financial state of the Association and we concluded that at this time we do not need to collect any additional registration fees from our members past what was collected at the beginning of March. All accounts that are in good standing as of March 1, 2021 will be set to $0 balance remaining for the 2020/21 hockey season.

We would like to thank all our volunteers, coaches, parents, and players for their support and understanding during this very difficult season. This is not at all what we would have hoped this season would look like a year ago. Our hope for 2021/22 hockey season is that things will return to as close to normal as possible, and that we can sit next to each other in the stands and watch our children play a sport we all love in a way that they are used to playing.

Players keep active, keep safe, hockey will be back!

Sincerely,

Steve Payne
PECMHA President
