PEC KINGS ATOM AE TEAM STARTS SEASON STRONG
The Ainsworth Funeral Home Kings Atom AE Team didn't let up for games 2 and 3 of their season winning both and proving to be a strong force on the ice. The Kings hosted the Brighton Braves in Picton last Saturday and came out strong with a 3-0 lead after the first.  Brighton would get only 1 past the Kings goalie in the 2nd period, while the Kings went on to finish the game 11-1.

The Kings were on the road the next day facing the Stirling Blues. The first period of the game ended with no score and the Kings fighting hard to get on the scoreboard.  They lit up the ice during the 2nd period scoring 4 goals to the Blues 1 and setting the pace for the rest of the game. The Blues came out charging in the 3rd period but it wasn't enough to get past the Kings defensive lineup - the Kings earned their  5-2 win! Great team work and effort by all!

Ainsworth Funeral Home Atom AE Kings faced what will likely be their toughest opponent this season, The Napanee stars, in Picton this Saturday, Oct 10th. The Kings started off hot scoring 2 goals in the first 2 minutes of the game. Napanee came back to tie it up 2-2 by the end of the 1st period despite the early lead for the Kings. The Kings got the lead they were working for early in the 2nd period but the Stars quickly took it back scoring 2 goals before the Kings tied it up 4-4 before the end of the 2nd.The 3rd period was a nail biter with Napanee taking a quick 2 goal lead before the Kings scored their final goal coming up one shy. Goalie Cooper Facette-Grondin made some outstanding saves throughout the game and the defence proved a tough match for Napanee. The Kings pulled their goalie in the last minute of the game but couldn't even it up.  The game ended 6-5 for the Stars.
The Atom AE Kings will face Tweed next Sunday, Oct 18th at 2:45 pm in Wellington.
