Presidents Message Regarding New OHF Ruling
Following the OHF announcement about new regulations for player movement, please read the following statement presented by President, Charlene Insley

Happy New Year to all our King Families

As I'm sure many of you have heard, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) made an announcement in December which greatly effects player movement regulations starting with the 2025/2026 minor hockey season.

This update is a significant one which will open "borders" and no longer will restrict players to be residentially qualified to tryout for Representative teams. Players will now be permitted to tryout in the centre of their choice, as many as the can, starting with Spring tryouts in 2025.

This decision will not effect the Local League program as there is currently no borders established.

Our association has started to work through this information and will has begun to create a plan around this change immediately. We understand that some members may disagree or be apprehensive at what the future may hold, but we remain positive that Prince Edward County Minor Hockey will continue to offer a competitive program for all our members. We will be looking for ways to enhance our current program but still remain true to our "County" roots.

There will be many questions in the weeks and months ahead and we will do our best to be as transparent as possible during this time of change.

In the meantime, lets focus on finishing the 2024/2025 season strong and come together to cheer on all our Kings as they head into the playoff season.

Respectfully,

Charlene Insley
PECMHA - President
