TEXAS HAT TRICK for Tyler Allison
The Prestige Contracting Midget Kings opened regular season play this past weekend with a tie, a win and a loss. A 3-3 draw in Norwood Friday night was followed by a 3-2 loss to Gan on Saturday evening. Sunday afternoon in Wellington saw the Kings hand a 7-2 loss to the Jets from Loyalist. Tyler Allison had a big game; scoring 4 and adding 2 helpers.

The Kings waited until the 2nd period on Friday night to find their scoring legs, with tallies by Andrew Ward, Ryan Kelly and Walker Deroche. A scoreless third period left the game tied at 3-3. Helpers went to Wyatt Gilbert, Andrew Ward and Ryan Kelly.

Saturday's game looked like it was going to end in draw as well but GAN played spoiler and scored with 10 seconds left in the game to win it 3-2.  Kyle Rutter and Andrew Ward scored for the Kings with assists to Deroche, Van Vlack, Marion and Braeden Kelly.

On Sunday afternoon in Wellington the Kings faced off against the Loyalist Jets. Walker Deroche opened the scoring in the first period for the Kings. Tyler Allison scored 4 goals ( it's apparently called a Texas Hat Trick - because everything is bigger in Texas?) and had 2 assists.  Also scoring - Andrew Ward and Kyle Rutter.  Helpers went to Van Vlack, Ryan Kelly (4), Marion (2), Rutter, Trevor Miller. Carter Whitteker solidly handled net minding duties for the weekend.
Next Up - MILK - the Midgets will be playing in the 2015 MILK Tournament October 23-25.
